Neighbor to Neighbor was asked to make a presentation to the Hospice of the Pines volunteer class this week. It got me thinking as I left the presentation, do people in this community really know Neighbor to Neighbor?
You've met our new Director Arlene Alen but who else works at Neighbor to Neighbor?
Meet the Call Center Coordinator Sarah Massey
Sarah has been with Neighbor to Neighbor for over 5 years. She is charged with doing all of the intakes of new Neighbors as well as scheduling all appointments between volunteers and clients. She is the friendly voice on the other end of the phone. Sarah is assisted in the call center by her dedicated volunteers - Deloris, Isla, Judy, and Clara!
You can find Sarah at the office Monday - Wednesday and Fridays from 9 AM to 2 PM. In her spare time you can find Sarah working with her church, quilting, and taking an aquafit class.

Can Volunteerism Improve Your Health?"
Thanks to Volunteermatch.org, a great online supporter of Neighbor to Neighbor, for providing this informative article. Please encourage your friends, family, and neighbors to get involved and sign up for an orientation TODAY! Call 775-6145
"The health benefits of volunteering have been reported before, but much is still unknown about the causal relationship between giving time and personal health. Does volunteering make you healthier, or do healthier people volunteer? Should service be prescribed for those with cancer or chronic illness? Are there health benefits to volunteering that working for pay cannot provide?
That picture is a little clearer thanks to a report VolunteerMatch released with UnitedHealthcare. The new UnitedHealthcare/VolunteerMatch Do Good. Live Well. Survey provides compelling evidence that volunteering not only enhances volunteers' physical and mental health but also strengthens relationships between employers and employees.
Among the key findings:
More than 68% of those who volunteered in the past year report that volunteering made them feel physically healthier.
29% of volunteers who suffer from a chronic condition say that volunteering has helped them manage their chronic illness.
89% of volunteers agree that volunteering improved their sense of well-being.
73% of volunteers feel that volunteering lowered their stress levels.
92% of volunteers agree that volunteering enriches their sense of purpose in life.

Potluck, Volunteering, and Yummy Yummy Chili
The beginning of the year is always a busy time.
This year, we're in the midst of planning several events that we would LOVE to see you at.
1. Neighbor to Neighbor's Annual Meeting
This potluck luncheon is designed for our current volunteers, Neighbors, and the community to come out and see what we accomplished in the last year and what we're looking forward to next year.
Bring your favorite dish and your curiosity to Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Prescott Valley this Wednesday January 27th at 11:30.
2. ORIENTATION!
We have had great success in bringing in new volunteers to the organization. We would like to especially welcome Lee Dillon, Frank and Judy Davidson, Stacy Zorich, and Georgina Phillips!
We have an orientation coming up this Thursday January 28th at 1 PM for anyone interested in volunteering with us. This is a no obligation session to learn more about Neighbor to Neighbor and what we do.
Join us at our office at 8501 Yavapai Rd. in Prescott Valley.
3. Last, but certainly not least, we have our upcoming annual Sweetheart Chili Supper. This is the longest running Neighbor to Neighbor fundraiser and it's a fun way to come out and support our efforts.
Join us at the Prescott Valley United Methodist Church on Saturday February 20th.
We're serving up chili, cheesy potato soup, cornbread, salad and dessert. The cost is $6 per adult or $3 per child (kids under 5 eat free!). You can purchase tickets at the door or in advance by calling our office at 775-6145.
Thank you for all of your support and we look forward to seeing you soon.
